Welcome to What's Quacking! A meet-and-greet series with our awesome humans. Get to know the people at ezyVet, what makes them tick, their role and life outside of ezyVet.

Meet Bruno Pinna, Senior Full Stack Engineer, UK.

What made you want to join ezyVet?

I moved to London from Rome because I was looking for a new tech challenge in a global and multicultural setting. Joining ezyVet was the crystal clear answer as it met my acceptance criteria.

How would you describe your day job to a 3-year-old?

I help doctors from around the world to make sure they don't forget to give medicine to kittens and puppies when they are ill.

In 3 years, what do you hope to have achieved at ezyVet?

I'd like to actively contribute in my teammates' professional growth, stimulating a continuous sharing of knowledge and opinions.

What motivates you?

I'm one of those people that love to stay far away from any kind of comfort zone. Here at ezyVet, it's objectively impossible to feel bored. The multitude of features, technologies, tools and workflows involved in our project helps me learn something new every single day and I love it.

How did you get to where you are today?

I followed my curiosity, my instinct and, obviously, the science that I've loved since the end of the '90s.

If you could do any other job for one day, what would it be?

Without hesitation, a UI/UX designer.

If you could pick anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?

Sir Jonathan Paul "Jony" Ive, a product and architectural designer and former Chief Design Officer of Apple Inc.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I'm currently involved in a fight against aging that I'm trying to win so I spend quite a bit of time exercising and staying fit healthy. (Much trickier during lockdown!)

Do you have any pets, what are they like?

I don't have one but Forrest is definitely my favorite office dog. I think I'm his favorite too as he sits on my lap all day when we were in the office.

What is your favorite quote?

"Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life" - Confucius

Do you have any advice for people thinking of applying to work for the company?

Get ready to learn new concepts on a daily basis and to feel free with sharing your opinions. You'll find a team that is extremely open-minded, always available to embrace new technologies, methodologies, and philosophies.
